Ivan is an illustrator and painter who uses a mix of traditional and digital media to create narrative pictures. His painting work draws inspiration from family stories of old Mexico, ghostly encounters and immigration. Ivan was born in Chihuahua, Mexico, and raised in metro Detroit. As a first-generation immigrant often existing between cultures, his work uses the supernatural as a metaphor to visually represent that existence.
