AM Scout (US. 1992) is a Detroit based figurative painter, focusing on large scale representations of womxn exploring the self, gender, sexuality, emotion and communication. The subjects are portrayed as they feel not as they look, highlighted by the surreal color palette and an exaggeration of form and physical structure. The emphasis placed on the body and gaze of the subject presents as a state of being enticing the conscience and unconscious nature of nonverbal communication to speak from a perspective of womxn existence.
